New website

By 2020 Rural Interiors saw the importance of an e-commerce platform to provide customer with the opportunity to buy the products they desire even if the shop is closed. Therefore, Rural Interiors invested into a new web developer to create an up to date and appealing website.

Refurbished Furniture

In 2017, Stephen (owner) leant that a lot of customers furniture were too good to throw away and just needed a new lease of life. Therefore, he took it upon himself to create a new product offering in which Rural Interiors upcycles furniture meaning that customers can change the look of their home, without having to lose their furniture.

Initial Website & Facebook page

As digital trends were increasing, Rural Interiors seized the opportunity to explore providing customers with an online platform to allow easier viewing access. To expand the digital awareness of the website, Rural interiors created several social media platforms with the most prominent one being Facebook.

2010

Relocated to Denby Dale (Viaduct)

In 2010 Rural Interiors had out grown the Mill shop and saw the opportunity to locate to the iconic Denby Dale Viaduct. This allowed Rural Interiors to expand their product range to include home accessories and garden furniture.

Re location from Sheffield to Denby Dale (Mill shop)

Due to new opportunities, Stephen (owner) decided to re-locate to Denby Dale. This change was in sync with changing trends towards furniture. Therefore, this new location provided Stephen (owner) with the chance to focus more in bespoke furnishings and Kitchens rather than antiques.

Own shop

By 1993 Stephen (owner) had decided to use all of his experience and apply it to create his own furniture business in Sheffield. This has been described by Stephen as ‘It allowed me to express myself more freely within the industry and provided me with a newfound respect on providing customers with the top sourced products to create their ideal homes’.

Key events

Stephen (owner) first started to learn about the furniture trade as an apprentice of Bentleys and co in Sheffield. In this period of time, he learnt from experienced furniture dealers, how to spot and quality furnishings.
